May 15th, 20152011 vintage. First time with this producer. Purchased an out of town bottle (along with a buncha BDX) approx two months ago and finally got around to driving 1.25 hours one way to pick up. Pressed immediately into service tonight. Sweet fill and good cork. Nose a bit musty. Not decanted as I was at home and too lazy for the hogsheads of real fire and whatnot. Light-medium body. Sultry notes of cinnamon, tangerine peel and slightly carmelized brown sugar betwixt drought earth and brackish water. Doesn't exactly sound like an Oscar for a memorable performance but this was firing. Lengthy finish. At the top of the bell curve and tastes like it'll remain as such for another 5-6 years. In that oh so sweet spot for dynamite, 1er Cru red Burg. At (only) roughly $170 a bottle (including shipping this time), purchasing four more bottles as we speak. I'd like to thank the Academy...er...the credit card. 12.10.24.

Dec 11th, 2024Dark cherry core with lots of floral and tertiary. Med + tannins, high acidity, med + finish. Wine has a lots of character. Very enjoyable.

Jul 10th, 2022Earthy and savory notes with barnyard funk and French oak on the nose. Dark cherry, menthol, strawberry jam, cinnamon, clove, bay leaf, cranberry, earthy minerals, and cedar on the palate. Medium alcohol, medium light tannins, and high acid.

Jan 23rd, 2022This is my favorite of my recent Burgundy lineup. The earthy component is more of a cacao-tinged forest floor. It is rich without being decadent. Beautifully framed fruit, but not so much you’d mistake this for new world. Silky tannins make it glide effortlessly across the palate. Great stuff.
