Silky texture is all its got going for it. Unripe blueberry astringency in taste and smell. Not sure time will do it any favors

Entry-level Burgundy from rock-solid producer Michel Gay... I’ve yet to have a less-than-excellent wine from this DNS Wines producer. Compared to his other 1er crus, this old vine Pinot is slightly less structured and even more accessible in youth. Granted, this is a riper 2015 offering... plenty of bright red cherry, ripe raspberry, balanced acidity. Delicious now.

Fast becoming one of my favorite producers in Burgundy. His higher-end offerings are stellar, but this wine has a supernatural QPR at $32. If you can find the 2015, buy it. The 2014 of this Chorey was tasty as well, and the Beaune-Toussaints 1er Cru was simply amazing. Everything you'd want in a fruit-forward but balanced Burgundy.

Delicious and accessible. Looking forward to the ‘15. Lighter in weight and less rich than the 2015 Beaune we tasted. Stellar producer... will be buying more.

Clear brilliant medium ruby. Lively medium intensity aromas of briar, dried rosé petals, dried citrus rind and cherry. Just a hint of smoking in the background. On the palate, medium acidity and medium minus tannin that slowly build in grip. Medium minus body with citrus peel and crunchy red fruit. This is a terrific good wine with good depth and intensity. Very nice varietal typicity. I like it - very French and no hint of the candy sweetness that souls some California Pinot. Restrained charm

A beautiful medium weight Burgundy, this cherry red, medium intensity wine is fruitier and more accessible than the 2010 vintage. The 2010 has more power but this one has more charm. Well balanced and beautifully pure expression of Pinot Noir
