Domaine Mee Godard
Morgon Côte Du Py Gamay
On the nose- darker red fruits, a little closed off. Really opens up on palate, lighter than expected from nose, chalky texture, more fresh and lifted with the acidity... fruit driven with chalk/dusty backbone. Not overly complex but has many interesting layers.

Jan 8th, 2021Also a winner. More structure, more chewy, more intensely herbal than the Corcelette. But same refined balance of fruit and finesse.

Sep 2nd, 20202017 vintage. First time I tasted a wine from this young estate (2013) with old vines. Dark colour for Gamay, but thankfully the wine is not overextracted. Very mineral nose, intertwined with ripe red cherry fruit and a hint of flowers. Pure and precise, with fresh acidity balancing the alcohol (abv 14%) and the ripe tannic structure. This has real depth and class, hard to resist now if you give it some time in the glass, but should age gracefully. Lovely Morgon. Highly recommended.

Mar 11th, 2020This needs Time in the cellar. Was dominanted by the acidity after opening. This was 5 days ago but now it's a great Morgon! Big Potential, but forget it in the cellar for 5+ years ar least.
