Domaine Marcel Deiss
Alsace Rouge Pinot Noir
Really great fruit purity. Definitely young but damp earth, cherry and cured meat were well defined. Palate was elegant and toned. 4-5 years would do this well.

Aug 7th, 2017Impossibly tasty and engaging for the money. I am told by a reliable source that the 2012 is even better.

Even in its youth this wine shows a ton of depth. Tart cherry, sweet strawberry, dried shrooms, salted meat.

Nov 19th, 2015Someone tricked us in a blind tasting! New world candied red fruit/Jolly rancher nose w lots of ultra bright fruit, but abundant herbal notes of juniper and anise. Palate is bursting w pomegranate. Lovely.

Oct 21st, 2022A bit atypical for pinot noir (although some -gris & -blanc in blend). Darker red fruits, a bit of smoky flinty aromas, herbs, licorice. Lots of spice for a pinot!
