I would consider this #wine for an alternative red. Not a blend, but smooth, weighty and pleasant.

Cab Franc from Loire, it smells like stewed black fruits, dusty and slighty herbal. Black fruits, some black asphalt and a dab of bell pepper on the finish. Ever so mild tannin with minute acid.

This can franc reminds me of a cab sav with a sleek silk dress on. Bright acidity and silky smooth tannins allow the blackberry fruit to glide effortlessly across the palate.

Deep burgundy. Earthy, mushroom on the nose. High acidity. Again, mushroom and green pepper on the pallet. Extremely dry. Medium to full body. Solid, long lasting tannin. It's not particularly easy drinking by itself. Perhaps good with smoked cheese or even smoked salmon. But the wine is of good quality.

Pale pink color, smells of Brie cheese, cranberry and white pepper, high acidity with tastes of lavender, lemon and spice, crisp finish with a mild sweet aftertaste.

This was pretty tight and I think it needed more time to open up. Had it at a dinner party with friends so I only got a glass. Pretty inexpensive so I'll probably get another bottle and try again before I rate.
