Domaine Leflaive
Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay
Puligny-Montrachet, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Classic leflaive. Flinty, Smokey and reductive. A bit ripe but right on the money. Bottle disappeared like it was a cocktail. Not many notes here because we drank it pretty fast but I guess that’s a hallmark of a great wine as it were

Exceptional as always. Pale yellow gold with a slightly reduced nose of gunsmoke, lemon and yellow apple. Opened up beautifully over and hour plus and really gained weight. Mineral driven and no signs of premox. Yummmm

Our delayed, fancier, 2019 Valentine's Day dinner.
Nose is awesome with dry struck Flint, faint struck match also. 2016, Enough said...

Popped and poured. Light gold. Nice weight. Awesome nose of lemon, river stones, petrol and spice. Lots of fruit to go with acidity and structure. Still young. For me, 04 has turned out to be the last great Leflaive vintage I bought and I'd probably trade all my 02/05/06/07s for it.

A wonderfully pleasing wine with refined yet generous fruit governed by taut acidity. The wood is not pronounced and no sign of over-sulphuring.
