Leflaive Montrachet 1996: Lush and full, with explosive flavors of citrus fruits, acacia blossom, spicy oak, and a hint sun-drenched asphalt. How long is the finish? How long do you have? A Chardonnay worthy of Coleridge's “Kubla Khan”: “he on honey-dew hath fed/ And drunk the milk of Paradise”. Less poetically, it is a Creamsicle with euphoric powers. Madame Leflaive R.I.P.
