Dark garnet with blackish purple core. Inviting nose of black cherry, red apple, and cola. Full-bodied palate yields black cherry, raspberry, red apple peel, anise, and light patent leather. Supple medium plus tannins mid-palate to finish. Medium plus acidity. An excellent Rhône red that’s ready for any “red wine” situation from American steak dinners to medium and hard cheeses to cigars. Drinking wonderfully now, but will satisfy and develop through at least 2030.

Served blind to me (after aerating 2+ hours in the decanter) I guessed this as:
1. Napa CS
2. Syrah (possibly from WA)
3. Cornas
4. Crozes-Hermitage
5. I give up....
Can I now please apply for a job as contractor, pet-walker, welder, school teacher, anything....

Good but unremarkable Chateauneuf. No flaws but weak Grenache flavor with little contribution from Syrah. Nose okay but weak. Went fine with lamb souvlaki but there are far better Chateuneufs at this price.

The black cherry aromas jump into your nose. Black cherry, black currant, mint, and mushrooms on the palate. Aging very well! Still no rush to drink.

3L!! Crusty wax took about 10 flakey minutes with a knife trying to break through. Totally worth the effort. Goat cheese and brownies-, unlikely pairings but absolutely delicious.

Drinking well now after a long decent but will improve more with age.
