Domaine Jean-Louis Chave
Hermitage Syrah
Perfect bottle. Still had red berry fruit tucked into hot earth, olive and smoke. Acid still kept it fresh and ever so juicy. And just the lightest bit of tannin remained to add some texture. Beautiful. #birthyear

Mar 2nd, 2017Stupid good and wow youthful. This wine rocked with hints of tea scorched earth and likely red fruit it's a monumental effort most can't understand.... But I do and I love it.

Feb 4th, 2016Supposedly off-year Chave Blanc, golden colored, honeyed, still opening, medium-full palate, very nice length, lovely older white.

Sep 24th, 2014Beautifully aged. Dried red fruits abound. Baked, drought-ridden earthiness. Classy elegance with an interesting sense of brightness. Old school benchmark winemaking. Powdery sediment was to a minimum, but care in handling and storing paid off.
