Domaine J. A. Ferret
Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay
Stellar wine. Tartness and bitter almond notes are welcome@and add complexity here. Move over Bourgogne blanc, this one sizzles.

Feb 12th, 2021Nose has carmel dipped strawberry, dried lemon zest, under-ripe lychee, grilled pear slice, slightly oxidized yellow apple slice and dry crushed rock.
Palate has honey drizzle over lemon slice, neutral oak, dried pineapple, pineapple core with light acidity and medium finish. A very nice wine for 2018, hitting this much too young. At $48 this is good, if you can land for under $40 it would be a way better value.
Cork pulled for a 5H slow oxidation.
Great pairing tonight with 'Georgian Chicken'; (local) chicken thighs with dry rub, seared in cast iron, then simmered/baked in a walnut/cilantro/jalapeno/tomato paste sauce, finished with pomegranate seeds & pomegranate vinegar drizzle.

A very enjoyable Pouilly Fuissé from France. Showing limes, lemons, Citrus, green apples, spices, herbs, light vegetables and white pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
This 10 year old white burgundy has nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. No need to chill it for too long, so you can feel the complexity.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Nice wine, but for me the oak is overdone. Baked apple, toast, buttered popcorn, vanilla, cream soda and nice acid. Very well made, but for me a bit disjointed.

Sep 11th, 2018Entering a decanter now...
I decant almost everything, except rosé, unless Cotat.
Air is generally good, for everyone.
2014 so good for P-F, please vote with dollars and endorse this vintage!

Surprisingly fresh and racy for its richness and complexity

Mar 5th, 2018Really love this P-F, it has it all... Crisp acidity, minerality, well integrated stem/seed notes and med-long finish. I'd love to see how our 6-pack will age over the coming years, but we're halfway through and it hasn't even been in the basement for a year yet, it's so damn tasty!
