Medium gold, smells older but not overly so. Notes of lemon, ginger, clay soil something floral and a little vanilla. Nice balance of fruit and structure. Sneaky acidity. Really nice showing tonight.

Drinking really well now. Great fruit with a touch of sandalwood. Rich and long and gorgeous.

Dark gold and a whiff of golden corn on the nose. The palate is fresh, strident and gorgeous. Real drive and acidity but a sweet edged ripe fruit, mint and lovely slatey balance. If I had more bottles I’d check in soon as these could possibly be at the start of premox, but right now this is lush, dynamic and strident. Very good.

Wine No. 5 in the 2016 white Grand Cru lineup tasted blind. We knew the identities but not the order of service. A very intense mineral nose with plenty of struck match/sulphur white flesh fruits. Quite reductive. Medium plus verging on profound intensity on the palate. Everything about this wine is intense and powerful. A long future ahead. Would rate a higher score once the sulphur blows off. Proves again that 2016 in certain areas was a very good vintage for whites. After the initial frost everything went well.

A very serious wine and my second favorite white of the night (only behind Coche dury) doesn’t feel ten years old. Still showing reduction and tremendous bright fruit and new oak. A stylized wine and very much in line with its corton Charlemagne roots. Phenomenal wine

Bright steely fruit on the nose with syrupy sweet lemon edges. Very corton charlie. Long and masculine. A while ahead presumingit avoids premox

Intense and focussed. Bright, driving yellow fruit with good sizzling acidity and a healthy dose of oak. Young but excellent.

A bit of sulfur, confit lemon lifted and bright. Poised midpalate with loads of saline minerality. Lovely stuff.

The 4th GC White Burgundy. Just a reminder - we knew the identity of the 9 whites served but not the order they were served. This wine had a strange machine oil type aroma. Gobs of glycerol within a sweet concentrated delicious palate. A long future ahead. Always a quality producer.
