Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay

Light gold. Nice weight. Leesy, sweet young nose. Offers an amazing array of descriptors including citrus, limestone, tan spice, apricot, lime blossoms, minerals, fresh cut apple, wet stones and some herbs. Rich and intense in the mouth. Complex. Has a feminine nature to it that wraps around some real power. Still mostly primary, bottles in perfect condition like this one easily have 10+ years in front of it. Great juice that can get even better. 95+

My 3000th wine on Delectable! This was the Wine of the Luncheon! Magnificent Chevy! Layered and complex. Some stony minerality. Stone fruits.

Spectacular beautifully full and light at the same time.

I couldn't get over the massive oak wall here, but maybe after a decade this will open up for business. Definitely good potential, but very weak now due to the wood stank.

Fading but still great.

2004 out of half. Perfect bottle. When these are not oxidized they are picture perfect Chevalier with great minerality and balance. Big Yummy.

Aged in a good way - transparent and good acid behind this balanced Chevy. More primary than I expected - clean and airy.
