Lush berries and chest warming alcohol. Soft black fruits and a smooth finish with velvety tannin.

2010 vintage - sweet red cherries, light spice. Alcohol felt a touch elevated, but overall pretty tasty.

Very well balanced. Fairly smooth and easy drinking. Cherries on the nose. Some soft chocolate notes. Definitely a new world styled French wine.

Red cherry on the nose, but an explosion on the palate of blueberry, pea shoots, and more of that cherry from the nose but perhaps brighter and more candied. A very interesting glass as it changes character as you get more acquainted...

Better on day two - more expressive. Strawberry preserves, milk chocolate shavings and tart blackcherry. Dark and brooding with linear acidity carrying stewed red fruits through the palate. Falls short on the finish and lacks some of the enjoyable characters sensed on the nose. Drink now with a decant.

This wine is not for me. But stylistically--given the Panzer-like palate profiles of too many wine drinkers of recent years--this Rasteau hits all the right notes. So, if you like going a few rounds with your wine before it decks you...put on the gloves. ALC 15%--beautifully camouflaged. (2012 Vintage.)
