Grenaches de Pierre Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grenache

Rich Grenache. Lovely. Pure variety character.

Was expecting a lot more than this gave. Thought this would be a stand out. Bright red and plum fruit with good acid.

Bright berry and juniper boughs, excellent acid and mineral earthiness.

Vinified in cement, old vine Le Crau

Aromatic, enticing, sweet.
Red fruit freshness & airiness, with some undergrowth, a mushroom whiff, already a bit evolved but still so fresh.
Beautifully balanced & poised on the palate, silky & smooth tannins, bright acidity. Power in a velvet glove. And brilliant length.
This is an excellent wine!

We had the 2011 Vintage on 5/4-5/22. A terrific wine with tastes of blackberry, boysenberry, plum and kirsch. Full bodied and fruit forward. Well balanced. Very good.

Wonderful mature Grenache. Gobs of dark fruit and and a hint of garigue!
