This is absolutely one of the finest wines being made in Cote Rotie today. Volcanic soils. Nose is so seductive. Unreal florals and game. Just so refined and vivid. A knockout. 9.8 nose. Wow wow wow wow. This is what one wants. I am blown away. Background of granitic stoniness. Palate is so silky, ultra sleek and has superb concentration but my goodness is so so elegant. Crunchy, energetic finish and the silkiness is just amazing. A serious amount of game throughout and what a long finish. Just so juicy, linear and energetic. This is a mind-blowing wine. Red berry fruit on the nose. Clay. Pottery. Amazing amazing wine. Perfect balance and the silkiest of silk tannins. Meaty finish. Can’t wait till this unravels but wowza. How much better can it get? Wow the tannins are so sweet, so silky and so refined. This is DEEP OCEAN!

The aromatics on this are powerful and complex. Florals, dark berries and savory components. This is generous and rewarding in youth. A beautiful example of savory/briny character accented by rich red fruit. Structured and textured. This shows great complexity, but also inviting freshness. Absolutely great. Social Distance wine #5

After 7 hours this is crazy. 9.5 to 9.7. Sickness. So clean. So pure. Massive violets. So finessed. Pure deep aroma.

Lights out @Lyle Fass. Perhaps a bit bold after three hours this evolves into something of refinement and great subtlety. Massive violets / floral, well-structured, game meat, mineral…. Fabulous. Hold but quite lovely after 5 hrs in the decanter.
