Blanchot Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay

Who says #Chablis is not a #pizza 🍕 wine? Who says any wine is not pizza wine?! 🤩

Noticeable Oak on first sniff. Good acid. Elegant- classic purity. Some tasters picked this as the Chablis in the lineup but for me it did not have the classic oyster shell. This may reveal itself in time once the oak intergrates better. Certainly will age.

1998. Great bottle. Still fresh. Sublime texture and flavour. Still has remarkable acid. Brûlée and zest flavoured. Superb length.

More round than some of its brethren, but still has that backdrop of salinity that makes Raveneau so special for me.

2ppp Raveneau Blanchots. Rich nose and palate. Unctuous with lots of honeyed tones and lovely balance. 94/95

Lovely but lighter and less complex than 05 Vaillons. Honey and white flowers but a bit drying on the palate. Some restrained honeysuckle. Too dry on palate. Lacking the depth of the 2000 Blanchots and 2005 Vaillons.
