The best village Gevrey, always punching well above its weight. Double decanted at 4pm to drink at 8pm. His 2012 has terrific concentration, intensity and complexity rarely seen in village wines. It shows red berries, exotic spices, minerals, lovely sous bois and gorgeous purity and texture. It finishes long with great lift and persistence. Fourrier can often be overshadowed by Rousseau, but they need to be in the same conversation.

Ripe red cherry, stewed red fruit, herbal licorice tea. Great from open to finish and stilly thinking about this a day later. Perfect at moment.

Delicious wine. Perfume is intoxicating. Ethereal purity of fruit. More Fourrier than Gevrey-Chambertin.

Montana morels. Wine has really filled out during the past 18 months. Drink now over next few years.

What an exceptional village wine. Really great depth, layered complexity and a beautiful purity. Punching above its weight. Kirsch cherries, ripe strawberries held together by a mineral backbone. Finishes with great length, energy and intensity.

Shows stalky, herbaceous character found in many 2011 CdN red Burg. Actually showed more rich, red fruit prior to receiving air. Producer style overwhelms Gevrey character not to my surprise.

Great wine. Violets, wild berry, underbrush, raspberry, loads of minerality and nice acid. Thanks Doug!

Beginning to shed primary fruit and still carries the Fourrier styling.

Checking in on this village gevrey & the 14 vintage. 14’s are all kind of watered down from late hail and rain. This should be opened in the next couple years & cost $30 -$40 not $90 dollars.
