Dark purplish ruby. Shy-ish nose (not in ideal nosing glassware) and medium palate of black cherry, and something marzipan-y. Medium acidity, rounded out by used French (or possibly Slovenian?) oak. Light tannins assert mildly on the moderate finish. Excellent Loire PN that's a bit fatter than expected for the appellation, but still in perfect place for foods of all styles. French cuisine is of course the natural. Drink now through 2030.

Jul 24th, 20262022 vintage. Produced from 35-55 years old biodynamically farmed Pinot Noir vines. Indigenous yeasts. Aged in barrels for about 12 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Less extracted than the 2020, which is a good idea. Raspberry and violets. Smooth and elegant, with bright raspberry fruit and velvety tannin. Abv. 13%.

Apr 30th, 20242020 vintage. A blend of their different vineyards, in this case 90% calcareous soils and 10% clay with silex. Very deep colour for Pinot Noir. Blackberry and raspberry in the nose. Great balance, with concentrated fruit and subtle spices. Abv. 14%.

Very enjoyable wine. Medium intensity on the nose. Aromas of lemon, unripe white peach, lemongrass, wet slate. Similar notes on the palate with a hint of lemon custard. Medium body. Medium plus acidity. Medium finish.
