Wow! Not “typical” Sancerre at all! Rich, intense, wild are terms that come to mind, but it doesn’t cross over into the weird category all the way. Yes, there is an orange wine lean here, but there’s still that flinty and floral quality I expect. Add a touch of yeastiness, fresh herb, bruised apple/apple skin, and a mushroomy like “umami-ness,” and you have a very interesting and delicious wine. Think Sancerre meets orange wine meets cider.

Whatever...why would I want to drink Sancerre with Botrytis? Another wine that was fat and uninteresting. One dimensional, straight forward, being drank too warm, paired with the wrong food, dinner party from hell, the conversation surrounding it made me want to put a knife in my temple. Couldn’t get out of the room fast enough.

this not pinot noir but sauvignon blanc, I really like this basic cuvee. tastes of ripe fruirs and honey because of the late harvest but still has strong minerallity
