Domaine Eden
Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
This Pinot toes the line between power and grace. Robust aromas and flavors but still fine and light, even for California. Red cherries and orange peel, some nutmeg and baking spices, even some mint. 2018 is drinking really well right now.

Aug 22nd, 2022The 2018 Pinot Noir is positively stellar. Bright, aromatic and deep, the 2018 is marvelously complete. Sweet red cherry, cinnamon, blood orange and mint all grace this flavorful, mid-weight Pinot. The 2018 is so nicely done. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2022)

Jan 19th, 2020It’s been a while old friend!
Very earthy nose, coupled with wood.
Palate displays caramel, cola and pomegranate. Surprisingly, flavors are somewhat muddled, indicating that this is past it’s bedtime. Good tannin and acid profile, but overall, we waited too long with this.

2014 vintage. Very dark-fruited and lots of black tea. Black cherry, crabapple, black plum, dried cranberry, black tea, subtle spice, walnut husk, dried autumn leaves. Reminiscent of a good village level Gevrey-Chambertin.

Dec 5th, 2018The wines from Domaine Eden are made in part from deselected barrels from Mount Eden, one of the most iconic estates in the world that sits at an elevation of 2000 feet in the Santa Cruz Mountains, overlooking Silicon Valley. Domaine Eden's 2014 Pinot Noir is a pleasant, easygoing mid-weight wine to drink now and over the next few years. Sweet floral notes, spice, hard candy, herb and dried cherry are all nicely lifted in this pretty, delineated Pinot. This is an especially fragrant, aromatic style for the Domaine Eden Pinot. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jul 2017)
