f you’re a Dujac fan you know they are some of the wines of the vintage in 2008 and such is shown in 08 Charmes, an elegant, pure and refined rendition with a seductive Dujac nose that explodes with some air. It’s dark fruited, powerful and savory, layered with spices, violets and game. It’s liquid velvet in the mouth with excellent concentration that gains with air, fine grained tannins and a superbly long, lifted, saline and mineral inflicted finale. A fantastic Charmes.

Scarlet tawny color, translucent. Medicinal nose. Notes of candied fruit, macerated cherries, balsa wood, some earth and some rhubarb. Rich in the mouth, nice balance. Refined. Still closer to primary than to tertiary in its overall delivery. I'll wait another 5-10 years before coming back to this. 93+

Really liking the spot 13’s are in right now. After just a short time in the decanter Dujac’s Charmes wafts from the glass with layered dark berry fruit, violets and lavender and signature stemmy spice. The palate shows great integration and delineation at this point with fantastic drive, power, fine grained tannins and a long lingering finish. 13’s are open for business ✨

Intoxicating nose that can be smelled across the room and one that is quintessential Dujac. It’s juicy with dark fruit and whole bunch spice and there is a surprising level of ripeness and concentration for the vintage. It’s finely detailed and delineated with a silky texture, big structure and excellent length. Open for business.

Bright scarlet tawny. Mostly opaque. Candied fruit nose. Notes of strawberry, cherry kirsch, sandalwood and some. A bit masculine in its impact, which is different than not so long ago. Still has a silky texture in the mouth and all the pleasure zones. Seems young but is rather luscious right now.

The stand out of today’s belated vintage lunch.
Layers of delicious Burgundian terroir.

July 4th Friday was a total blowout! Killer bottles one after another. Here are just a few of the bottles we all enjoyed!

I’m not a big burgundy person (probably because I haven’t focused attention there and tried reputable producers), but this was big and powerful aromatically showing wild flowers, underripe black cherries, tar and herbal spice. Not thin nor overpowering on the palate. Acidity is still fairly high. More dusty and earthy toward the finish.

PnP as a night cap. Nice tawny purple color. Bright fragrant nose. Notes of red fruit, spice, moist black soil and some sois bois. Good texture and mouth feel. Love 01 Dujac.

Nice reddish tawny color, translucent with depth. Bright ripe bing cherry dominated nose. Notes of rhubarb, cherries, moist forest floor, a little menthol and some steminess. Still chewy in the mouth but well balanced, especially after an hour of air. Good stuff. Should get better with more time in the bottle though.

Tawny with some ruby in the center. Mostly translucent. Perfumed nose. Notes of sweet black cherry, earth, wet cedar, sandalwood and some tan spice. Has the funk. Still young in the mouth with some pucker that smoothes out with air. Nice showing. Still on the upslope.
