Châteauneuf-du-Pape White Rhone Blend

Blend of 45% Grenache Blanc, 30% Clairette, 20% Bourboulenc and 5% barrel-fermented Roussanne, pale lemon color with aromas of green and stone fruits with citrus and honey notes. On the palate flavors of apricot, apple, peach and pear, crisp with good balance of acid, still fresh and lively. The medium+ finish is tangy with smoky, nutty earthy ending. Good now, some age will benefit the wine! Nice! Be sure not to over chill as you will lose out on all of the complex flavors and aromas.

Dark purple, plum flavours and slight menthol nose.

Viscous and glass-clingy, color is deep purple (!); ripe blue plums, red cherries, and blueberries, minerality, lavender, and somber oak notes; rich and structured with high alc (15%) and acids but softer tannins, very fruity like plumjuice, mouthfilling but very dry and short on the finish. These half-bottles should no doubt rest longer, but they don’t last long in my cellar.

This 2017 sings! Grapefruit covered in a delicate honey glides along a lemon zest and a juicy golden apple that fills the mouth. Strong finish with this wine. This will certainly develop for 3-5 more years, but go ahead and enjoy it now.

Waxy, as is characteristic of slightly aged CdP whites. A little tropical, petrol and nuttiness too.

Not the most exciting CdP. A little clean, a bit light but a decent example if not particularly thrilling.

The vineyards of Domaine du Vieux Lazaret are spread over 90 hectares, split into 35 different parcels throughout CDP, today one of the largest domains in CDP. Be sure not to over chill as you will lose out on all of the complex flavors and aromas. Intense green & stone fruit aromas with citrus notes. The palate shows firm fruit, apples, peaches and pear, crisp with good balance of acid, still fresh and lively. The medium finish leaves with a nutty earthy ending. Age will benefit the wine! Nice!

So fresh and inviting. Spring flowers, slate, honeydew, Fuji apple. Could see this appealing to all white wine drinkers.
