St. Joseph Syrah

Rich, ripe, elegant, juicy and clean, with beautiful purity and very fine tannins. Classic, polished and delicious.

Lusciously fruited, deeply textured, loaded with fresh and liquor-like fruit, smokey, olive, dark earth. Utter pleasure but balanced form of hedonism

Impressive for the vintage

Still has some tannins, but maybe better to aerate then aging substantially longer. Very complete St Jospeh with a long finish.

Deep garnet; medium plus intensity aromas of cooked blackberry, roasted meat, Worcestershire sauce, cinnamon, wet leaves, charred wood, black pepper; dry, medium acid, medium plus tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors of cooked blackberry, forest floor, toast; a bit too stale for its age

Dark fruit. Hints of licorice. Not very mineral or acidic not a fruit bomb but fruity wine.

2013. Graceful.

Nose is very tarry with dark berry fruit. Nice granitic stank as well. Very. A bit floral as well. Palate is juicy and complex. Really a ton of fruit but also a ton of mineral and rocks on the finish. Juicy and lithe a vast improvement over last time. Nice finish.

Floral, gamey nose. Some spice and incense. Big, plump and uncomplicated on the palate with big juicy fruit and slight prickly heat. Good not great.

Big tannins and ripe: awesome. Juicy and super structure. Fantastic.
