Domaine du Tunnel (Stéphane Robert)
Cornas Syrah
Cool, concentrated blue fruit rounded with fennel and granite. elegant and persistent, but the fruit remains somehow grapey.

Jan 25th, 2020This was all fruit and flowers for me, with a little bit of minerals--overall aromatic, intense, and complex, but is this northern rhone Syrah? I don't know what the producer was going for, but I would have liked more savory and meaty character to this. Nonetheless, this had seamless tannins, plenty of acid, and a solid finish--I want to try again in 5, 10 years to see where this goes. (Rating for drinking today).
