Sappy, grainy-textured, plump, spicy and meaty, this full-throttled expression will need a year or two to settle down. Bursting at the seams. 2018 bojo personified, on the power side of the power /elegance spectrum. As always, excellent value from Brun.

Hand picked in Lyon, the label lured me into thinking that something magical awaited, a bit disappointed when opened. Plenty of fresh, vibrant fruit, but felt over oaked and missing the finesse of other Beaujolais I’ve had from the region.

Vinous gave 93 points to this 2014. Parker just two points lower. I'm not as generous, but it's a damn tasty Gamay and went very nicely with BBQd pork loin baby back ribs and corn. My main criticism...just a tad too much spice fighting the fruit.

Another very beautiful work by Jean-Paul Brun, with this Saint-Amour that bears the stigmata of crunchy and generous Beaujolais, as well as the presence of a pretty Burgundian wine. Perfectly the style I love, at a reasonable cost in view of quality. My last 2017 bottle unfortunately, what a year!
