Super funky but not annoyingly so. Smoky on nose. I’ll leave the rest of the descriptors to Lyle. I don’t know that many words. :) I like it v much. PS info see the taurasi and crozes references here.

Super fun. "It's like if Côte de Brouilly/Crozes-Hermitage/Chambolle/Taurasi dropped acid and this is the wine they created." 🎯

What a crazy wine. 5 ha of this grape on earth. From isere, a region next to savoie in the mountains in the east of France.

Nose is grapes and piney. Very alpine. Some flowers as it opens. Lilacs ? Lavender? Really a beautiful wine in such an unexpected and different way.

Palate is Really delicious. Incredibly crisp and fresh. Hints of pine. Silky tanins.

Lovely fresh alpine finish.

This is almost like if a parcel of volnay was transported to the mountains.

I served this with veal tongue soup. I wanted a re but an elegant red. Mountain wine made sense. I’m glad I had this in my cellar.

Bought from fass selections.

Stunning wine as always and it totally unfurls in the glass over a few hours. Nose is soft blackberry, blueberry and an alpine minerality. Smells like alpine Volnay with a dash of Cornas. Palate is so elegant and haunting. Juicy and so pure. Nice red fruited palate that belies the promise of the nose. Such an interesting and unique wine. Lovely hay and alpine grasses on the nose after air. Terrific structure, chewiness and depth. A very mineral inflected palate. Tremendous length, sap and length. Brilliant wine.

One of the best I sell that has somewhat of a cult following. It’s one of those wines that seems so familiar but is made from an odd grape in an odd place. But man does it work. Nose is floral and lifted. Gorgeous tiny berry mountain alpine fruit. It’s intense. Deep and grapey initially but it’s got substance. Incredibly clear and vivid minerals. Just arresting and original aromas. Superb concentration and what an awesome velvety texture. Superb depth and freshness. Stunning clarity and purity. Velvety tannins. What a showing. Best bottle of Rutissons I’ve ever had.

This wine is fucking amazing. And yes it deserves an F-BOMB! 💣 gorgeous nose of grapey, bright and intense fruit. Gorgeous refined spice. Dark fruits. Wild flowers. Berry, black cherry. Dark plums. Superb spice and earth. Gorgeously mineral and mashed dark flowers. Wow. What inner mouth aromas. Juicy and so so refined. Super clean and super spicey. Complex and concentrated. So so pure. Fresh. Vibrant. This is so balanced. What a wine. One of the most refined wines I’ve ever had from the Savoie. Technically Isere. Incredible inner mouth perfume and ripe, gorgeous tannins. Amazing palate presence and so so well made. 9.3 for now but 9.4 potential. Slamming.

As it airs out the texture gets sleek and refined. This is unreal. Incredible concentration and so perfect.

Lovely wine, a cool @Lyle Fass selection which would be really fun to blind your friends on. Nose is like an alpine n. rhone, palate recalls fine juicy bojo, high acid, astringent tannins. Our second bottle, showing a bit more aromatic development. Fun stuff.

Rare grape from Isère (near Savoie) and another @Lyle Fass curio. First sip after 3-hr decant brought to mind young Loire cab franc—bright fruit, tannin, high-toned acidity. Calmed down over a few hours and blossomed in the zalto. Pretty nose, bright cherry; palate has a softness that recalls mountain nebbiolo, earthy, young tannin, great structure, high acid. Terrific match with the barberries & cardamom in an Ottolenghi dish; cut through the chicken fat and really helped make a memorable meal.
