Domaine des Pothiers
Cuvée Domaine Côte Roannaise Gamay
The “Domaine” bottling shows a decidedly more cru Beaujolais fashioned approach. More density, firmer tannin and quite a bit more intense spice character and minerality. About 20% carbonic.

Sep 19th, 20192012, Domaine des Pothiers, Domaine Gamay, Cote Roannaise. One of my go to wines; I buy a half case every year. Lots of tart red fruit and tons of spice. Good with food or just sipping. Great value and can compete with Cru Beaujolais.

Nov 20th, 2015Funky on the nose with hay and animal notes. A backbone of mint, wild violets and spiced black cherry. Great structure.

Nov 17th, 20152012 vintage. This may be my wine of the year. It was so delicious, I almost can't decipher the flavor profile. Ethereal, weighty, lean, rich, fleshy; amazing. Darkly colored but limpid and vibrant. Luscious, mouth watering and quite long, but not particularly tannic or too weighty.

Aug 30th, 2014Juicy yet elegant Gamay fro the Loire. Black currant and black cherry on a bed of rock. Pure in it’s fruitiness but with nice structure coming from the granite.
Drinking very nicely and a perfect fit with goat cheese.
