Stunning fruit.a whiff of matchstick… oh there but great tension and balance. This has a long life ahead now but is a primal joy right now

Gorgeous light lemon fruit with a hint of butterscotch and a steely spine. Refined and sophisticated and long. Delicious

Stunner. Mature white burg at its finest from 02 Charmes, still incredibly youthful and vibrant with captivating aromatics of spiced orchard fruit, toasted hazelnuts and butterscotch that comes in waves, and the palate is expansive, textural and stunningly complex, both rich and refined with a silky, crystalline and mineral finish. Amazing wine.

Stunning wine. Love the vintage for whites, in which terroir will shine, and I love the Charmes site particularly from Lafon. It’s fabulous today, youthful, fresh and ultra complex with proper levels of development without any hint of premox, with a bouquet of spiced orchard fruit, white flowers, honeysuckle and roasted hazelnuts. The palate has gained richness but remains pure and focused with tremendous depth that’s seamlessly balanced by its stony minerality. In an amazing spot!

Very flinty and reductive. Enjoyable now, but will blossom into something special.

Lafon crushed the vintage and 2011 Charmes is superb tonight, floral, elegant and detailed, wafting from the glass with layered aromatics of yellow orchard fruit, fresh lilies, hazelnuts and pastry cream. The palate is vibrant and textured with killer volume, ripping citrusy acids and a long stony mineral inflicted finale. While still young of course, 2011 Charmes is in a fantastic spot with another 20 years easy.

Medium gold color, heavy in the glass. Tropical fruit nose. Notes of lemon creme, kiwi, citrus, river stones and tan spice. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Decent acidity remains. Great balance. Somewhat Chablis-like. At peak but plenty of time to enjoy in the future.

Explosive from the pop. This is stunning. Its intense aromatics leap from the glass flaunting layers of yellow fruit, lemon cream pie, fresh lilies and stony minerals. There palate shows fantastic detail and delineation, with impeccable balance and concentration. Finish goes on and on. Fantastic bottle.
