Darker gold with an old white wine nose. Notes of warm citrus, creme brulee, some butterscotch. Later these notes mellow as the wine got more air and opened up a bit. Silky in the mouth. A bit past its prime for sure, but still has some sneaky acidity and enjoyment to offer.

Much too young but had time during quarantine to open. Rich and delicious, showing apple, honey, pineapple and spice and lemon zest. Will be even better later.

Straw yellow gold. Nice weight. Feminine nose. Notes of lemon, pineapple, tan spice, clay soil and white flowers. Big and rich in the mouth. Nice structure. Medium plus finish. Did great with lots of air. Has improved since last btl a few years back.

A punch of oak then lemon curd and bright sizzling acidity. Really intense and dynamic with wet stone. Citrus, white flowers, honeyed notes in the background. This is much more lucid, intense and fresh than most of the others I’ve tasted. Wonderful.

Very charming indeed 😎🤦🏻‍♂️ Dense and rich, yet surprising lithe. A real class act here. I've got nothing but good things to say about Lafon's recent vintages and this 16' was firing on all cylinders from the get-go.

The nose was gorgeous - pears and apples with strong floral and rich malo elements, all set on a underlying tone of well-integrated reduction. On the palate, the wine was so smooth (no hardness at all!) and complex. The wife described it as being very balanced and complete. I loved the texture. Deceivingly light when first opened (to the point that AC thought it might have been a Chablis), but the texture kept buidling as the night progressed. Air also revealed the more citrusy side of this wine, lovely spice, and a light stoniness. The finish was long, driven by fruit and acidity. Superb really and I would definitely like to revisit this in a good couple of years.

NB: Apparently, no new oak was used in this 16' Charmes.

Too young but was worried other would consume it before I could taste. Peach, white pepper, honey and almond butter. Was really good and got better over the day. Would open again in another two plus years it had more.

Some apple juice/ oxidative notes on the nose, with an underpinning of lemony limestone. The palate is beautifully pure and balanced. Lemon oil, corn and light, steely minerality. The nose isn’t as good as the gorgeous palate. Long and delicious.
