In good shape—lots of tertiary notes, herbaceous, soil, old leather, dried porcini, still some smooth plum, black currant, blackberry fruit and holding on to some structure. I feel like the cab tends to predominate in this wine

Impressive considering age and appellation. Even though Trevallon is a reputed producer, this was still a major surprise. Served blind, I assumed it was from Bdx.

Interesting comparison of '91 and '93. Both were beautiful! The '93 showed more intensity and bigger fruit while still very elegant. This is a Syrah Cabernet blend where the Cab seems to take over the nose, while on the palate the animal more wild notes of aged Syrah were more present.
