Almost minty. Earthy flavors mirror the beets.

Drinking nicely. Paired well with ginger jalapeño t-bone. Love this producer.

Light in colour- pale ruby. Muted nose giving very little to begin with. As often happens with red Burgundy the palate fills out and the wine puts on weight with time in decanter. One of the 1001 wines. With time a lovely red fruited perfume - elegant yet delicious. This wine grew in stature the longer the time in decanter but was only ever light to medium weight. I had a humidity issue in my smallest wine fridge a few years ago hence the crinkled label.

I realize quality, overall quality. This wine represent two thing; above average quality combined with a style of wine I do not like. It’s like... always when Montille is served blind and my first thought is Piedmont gone wrong. Same feeling here. Tannins are still coarse and unyielding, with the supporting fruit loose knit. It’s great Terroir here and it’s weird to me that they don’t get their gear fixed. Still no rush drinking it if you’re fans of ages wines, then you wait. To me necrophilia lies ahead.

Dark and rich, fruits turn to flowers through the finish. Captivating.

A gorgeous showing tonight for the '12 de Montille Taillepieds, a wine that is only just starting to enter it's drinking window. Here I found a bouquet of crushed cherry mixed with savory minerality, wild herbs and hints of undergrowth. On the palate, savory rich textures gave way to dark red berry fruit with hints of stem induced exotic herbs. The finish was long with saturating dark wild berries, young tannin and inner floral tones. Its wonderfully expressive tonight.
