Vin Jaune L'Etoile Savagnin

This might be the highest score I have ever given a wine. Lyle has it correct. Saline, nuttiness, perfection in a glass. I just love this.

Wow. Just perfect. Totally elegant, salty, nutty and so so fine. More notes later. Too good!

Massive. Walnut, citrus zest, earth, yellow fruit. So long, sherried, but still totally elegant.

This Jura rocked and better close to room temp. Maybe my favorite and the boys’ lunch blowout this year.

Really lovely Vin Jaune that - like all of Montbourgeau’s offerings - leans toward delicateness and subtlety over boldness and power. Floral and full of green fruits alongside the nuttiness and pronounced salinity. Pale color and much less jaune than most. Unique and refreshing - not a frequent VJ descriptor. Worth seeking out.

Nutty, oxidized baked fruit, citrus, fresh pear, melon, wax, ginger, honey and yumminess. Almonds? Comte? Roast Chicken? Yes, yes and yes. Years to go, here.

Like a funky cheese on the nose. Yet surprising fruit on the palate.

Excellent! Complex sherry undertones and its got muscle.
