En mag and despite its young age drank so well. Plush, soft texture that are immediately appealing.

Biased note as this was one of mine. It’s very young, but still stunning. Lovely barrel toast and tobacco nose. Kind of crunchy on the palate. Sweet approach with a textured mid-palate. Fresh fruit profile of stone fruits, with a flashy finish. Needs more time, but excellent now. From magnum.

Poured from double magnum... For such a crappy vintage in Burgundy, this is truly outstanding.
The nose is very delicate, giving up barrel toast cherries, berries and a slightly sweet edge. Weightless on the tongue with an uncommon purity. An extended finish of rich dark fruits put a capstone on the "wine-of-the-night

Softer and riper than the ‘99 Potel. Just as delicious.

Terrific Bonnes Mares. A myriad of lifted notes on the nose with a deceptively deep and dark fruited body. Viscous mouthfeel that lingers forever. Drinking well now but could easily go another 10-15. Happy birthday to my friend Eric!

2005. Tasted blind I’d have guessed a California pinot noir. Tons of bright fruit, good acidity. Perhaps as it opens it will gain some funk. I like this a lot but I’m guessing it’s controversial as it’s not very classic burgundy to me. But it’s super delicious right now for a 14 year old wine.
