Jongieux Vin de Savoie Mondeuse

Mild citrus, clean, very clean.

Jacquère, eh? That's one for the @winecenturyclub. Gotta say that I quite like this - nice body & acidity & citrus.

Vintage 2013, a compelling wine with high acidity. From the Jacquere grape.

Light lemon/lime with nut & gravel undertones. Alpine fresh & white flowers. Delightful for summer.

Shy nose of freshly crushed red berries. Rather dry and greenish mouth, like many Savoie red wines. Slightly better and a little more open on the second day.

Light and fresh, even at this late vintage. Lemon, lemon grass, almonds, white pepper, and minerals. Low alcohol and moderate plus acid.

Made from jacquère, the colour of this wine is a very pale lemon-green, almost water-like in transparency. On the nose, I'm detecting pears, flowers, and a whiff of wet pavement. On the palate, I taste green apples, lemons, and a certain freshness that's hard to put into words.

Quite enjoyable and suitable for quaffing in spite of the high acidity, but shows best when chilled because there is a discernible amount of alcohol that can otherwise detract from the refreshing qualities of the wine.

Juicy, flowery

Granny Smith apples, tons of acidity. Nothing complex but very refreshing as you sit around waiting for dinner.
