Domaine de la Madone
Nouveau Beaujolais-Villages Gamay
Tasted the 2017 vintage on release day... Soft and smooth... relative to other two BNs I’ve tried together. Juicy and floral. A bit of bitterness on the finish.

Nov 17th, 2017Dark garnet purple in the glass. Nose is very shy; plum, purple berry, not much grape. Echoed on the palate, but most fruit is gone. Soft tannins and a bit of darkness on the finish. Wasn't intended to last this long, so not disappointed. Besides it still compliments grilled salmon nicely.

Nov 20th, 2016Beaujolais Villages Noveau? Came in ahead of the appellation wide stuff in our tasting, nice to see the AOC means something- delicious and even a bit tannic!

Nov 27th, 2015Dark berries and cinnamon-like spices. More body and tannins than I expected from a Beaujolais Gamay - and took about 30 minutes to open up in the glass.
Winery: Practicing organic. Very old, steep & high altitude vines. Semi-carbonic maceration. Aged in a mix of stainless steel and concrete.
