Jun 21st, 2021Back to the reds after forgoing in FL...not sure what to make of this one - very smoky nose, strong fruit (raisins) but off-putting somehow. Definitely better with food than sipping.

Big, dark opaque ruby color. Stewed prune on the nose gives the indication it might be past its prime, but youthful in the mouth. Big fruit braced by chewy tannin, very dry, some sediment. Good but not my style.

A very nice 2007! 30% Mourvèdre in the blend which I'm always grateful to see in generous proportion. Very nice, classically styled CDP.
