This was deep, dark and brooding with a dense and rigid structure. It’s was thoroughly enjoyable but not a whole lot of fun to consume. Time will tell I guess - 2005

Dark scarlet and bright, not showing its age. Briary nose. Notes of black cherry, moist earth, old dark wood and black pepper. Very masculine. In the mouth it’s surprisingly balanced. A bit dry in the finish. A touch vegetal. A decent wine but lacking the emotion of a better vintage. And probably needs more time.

Beautiful color. At first we thought it was off but that quickly blew off. Slightly evolved nose but still in a lovely spot. Hoisin sauce, dark plum and dusty cherry on the nose. Fresh and supple on the palate. Long finish like silk.

Darker reddish tawny. Big cherry nose. Earthy. Notes of bing cherry, rhubarb, red flowers, sandalwood and a little kirsch. Luscious fruit in the mouth. A little stemmy but the structure is soft and the fruit is bright. Gave it 6 hours of air and was nicely rewarded.

I don’t get it the largest land owner of Musigny makes over concentrated California style Pinot noir . My score is generous here not my style of red Burgundy , ever time I taste the wines from this estate I’m happy I don’t own any .

Lovely intense plummy fruit. Gnarly dark notes. Lean and clean. Still poised and a little tight on the finish.

Deep crimson. Aromatic aromas. Delicious palate with savoury tannins. The future looks good. Roscoe saw Brett and Animale and gave it 80 points and a poor future. Jancis gave it 19/20 with a drinking window of 2030-2050. Very disparate views.
