Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé
Bonnes Mares Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France
(En Magnum)…One to live forever, but with proper aeration it’s plenty giving, perfumed and seductive with a powerful, vibrant and structured palate with killer Grand Cru density and stunning length that seemingly never dissipates. For the long haul!

Intense and rounded. Dark fruit with a hint of oak and mocha. Spices and a lovely flush and long finish. Approachable now.

This was deep, dark and brooding with a dense and rigid structure. It’s was thoroughly enjoyable but not a whole lot of fun to consume. Time will tell I guess - 2005

Dark scarlet and bright, not showing its age. Briary nose. Notes of black cherry, moist earth, old dark wood and black pepper. Very masculine. In the mouth it’s surprisingly balanced. A bit dry in the finish. A touch vegetal. A decent wine but lacking the emotion of a better vintage. And probably needs more time.
