Vaudésir Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay

All around stunning. Gold hue, refreshing acidity, lots of texture & minerality and a plethora of aromas and flavors: lemon, yellow apple, salinity, toasted almond, lees, slight mushroom. Multifaceted long finish and surprisingly fresh for 2009. 13%ABV, vinification in stainless, aged 4 months in barrels (90% 1-3 yo, 10% new).

Wonderful elegance. Mellon and pears, with some custard and bakery notes. Unctous with a remarkable acidity. 2015 drunk in sep 17

Well-rounded and balanced. Personal tastes reveal a strong preference for 1er Cru, but I dug this overall.

Cork was totally shot, wine was rich and golden and oaky and Meyer lemon

Site mostly eaten by vintage and oak. Still grand cru is grand cru, but drink up soon.

Young vines in Moreau's Vaudesir 2008(roughly 10 years, if memory serves), and I am not sure the fruit was able to fully integrate the oak. Delicious wine, although more oak influence than expected.
