St. Joseph Syrah

So this was good to go with a decant. Had half the bottle then had to leave town...returned 5 days later and this was amazing! Smooth lush seamless. Sometimes oxygen is your friend.

Heavy on ripe red fruit, less so on the smoke and bacon. Peppery. Called it CdP blind

Med+ concentration,sour cherry tart rotten cherry VA, Brett, iron rust high acidity, dusty medium tannins, medium body. Mistakenly called it Sangiovese I think…

Seductive nose with a clear peppery tingle. Good dark syrah fruits with some licorice. Pretty acidity keeps it lively and characterizes the northern part in this Rhône. The wine finishes pretty long and shows minerality. A treat and ‘only’ 12 years old.

Very earthy, spicy, med body, food with spicy tomato sauce or meat
