Incredibly earthy right out of the gate with dark cherry fruit and dried herbs, quite savory and dusty and all the more beautiful for it. Dried sage and river mud linger in the finish with the scent of blackberries.

Loving the complexity and lots of flavors. Brick red in color, pretty vibrant still. Strong aromas. Like leather and black fruit. Medium high tannin. Medium acidity. Medium body. Tastes like a bit of leather or smoke but good fruit to balance that out. Medium long finish. I’m not a huge fan of the leather smoke notes but appreciate it for what it is and enjoying the complexity of flavors! I personally have to be in mood for this one but it’s a good one!

First day was OK, some leather, tobacco, pomegranate. Soft tannins. Tasted a bit generic. Opened up and grew more complex the second day. Nose additionally showed tar, anise and spice, hints of blackberry. Palate confirmed, with some lovely mushroom on the finish. A little weak on the attack.
