Firm and serious minerals with juicy, juicy fruit. Kiwi, green citrus, apple and taffy. This has tremendous concentration; it’s powerful and lithe. Grippy and tactile green fruits coat the mouth and linger. Just right acidity, very balanced. Stunning bottle.

Good wine, but not as much cut, energy, as anticipated.

A surprising Chenin Blanc from Chinon’s tuffeau soils, the result of long, long fermentation (12 months) in 500-liter barrel. On the nose, wet earth, citrus blossom and honeysuckle, then full-bodied with lots of peach, clementine and even mango flavors, a salty core, and a dry, stony finish. (Jason Wilson, Vinous, July 2020)

Gulped this down way too fast and too young. But we need some summer joy today 🌞

2007 - at 11 y.o really expansive - edge color turning but not body - a little viscous - honied and peachy. Wow. Wish I had more.

Reminded me of Savennières. Really interesting. The CF is the better QPR though.

Opening this is a serious case of infanticide. Hold on for a minimum of two years before popping the cork. Steely notes of chamomile, bruised pear, linen, and chalk. This has Savenniéres overtones and will be relatively long-lived and certainly become more expansive with cellar time.
