Domaine Bernard Baudry
Chinon Cabernet Franc Rosé
The 2022 Rosé Chinon opens with a pretty blend of sweet spice, young peaches and freshly shaved pine. This is soft and round with a bump of zesty acidity and minerals that add tension. Ripe strawberry and melon tones wash across the senses. The 2022 finishes with decent length and a pleasantly chewy sensation as un tea and candied orange hints fade. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2023)

Jun 22nd, 2023With no skin contact, just pressing, the 2021 Rosé Chinon is a totally dry, firm and direct style leaving no compromise. Fermented in cement but left on lees with no sulphur added, there's a hint of oxidative character. The ose presents a nutty, pastry note as well as dried apples alongside subtle red fruit. A savory, pale salmon-hued rosé with some phenolic firmness. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2022)

The 2020 Chinon Rosé is a very pure, dry, mid-weight that offers delicate raspberry notes, but this is as much about structure as it is about fruit. The flint soils contribute a slight phenolic texture and length to the finish. A serious food rosé, made with a blend of 50% flint and 50% alluvial soils, and hand-harvested and gently pressed. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, October 2021)
