Pretty much a nice, textbook example of what Crozes should be. Nose has dark cassis, intense dark minerals, black peppercorn, drying purple flowers, funky cured meat. In the mouth it’s intense, mouthcoating, and savory, but the tannins are soft and the feel is lighter than you expect. Really nice balance and cling.

What a nice little value, with all that bacon fattiness on the palate... Good pepper and spice and fruit too! Subtle wine that lacks the punch of other wine from the area, but makes up for it by being well rounded and delicious.

May 12th, 2015Smoke, leather, and dark plums on the palate and in the nose. Needs an ample decant to round the dusty tannins. In fact, let this sit for another year in the cellar before giving it a try.

On opening my nose was captivated with barnyard, lavender and bacon!
It poured thick and unctuous in the glass lots of layers and a menthol finish.
I was leaning toward a 9.2 but sadly all of the power that it held immediately after pouring disappeared, just floated away after only 15-20 minutes of uncorking.
Amazing deal at $19 K&L

Way too sweet for me. Plum and candied Apple but not a lot of complexity. And sweet.
