My oldest champers to date. Honeyed nougat, mushroom, dried apple, but big, frothy bubbles that threw me off

Comment later.. a day later. This is a very expressive, if not dramatic, wine with a satin floral finish and more than a hint of brioche. While I have enjoyed the P2, both rosé and brut, this is a first P3 experience with some of the best wine friends ever. And that's the value of all wine. Share with friends.

Oh, wow. 30 years on the lees. Brioche, butter, coffee, caramel. Hauntingly beautiful. Absolutely resolved but with lively precise acidity. Minerality, and still fizzing with vitality. Length and length. A shockingly good wine.

1971 vintage. P3. Deep lemon hue. Slightly oxidised - mushroom, earth, lemon pieces, stone fruits. On the palate, medium plus acidity, medium body and full concentration of flavour. Good length despite the oxidation.

1973 vintage. P3. At Dom Perignon with Richard and Jay. Toasty while still fresh citrus notes, slightly reductive, almond notes. On the palate, high acidity, medium body, high concentration of flavour. Finesse and elegance with great complexity, while still fresh and remarkably youthful. Fabulous. Drink now until 2026+

1990 vintage. At Dom Perignon with Richard and Jay. Medium lemon hue. Seaweed, soy sauce, stone minerality, ripe lemon pieces. Excellent - still fresh but very complex. On the palate, medium plus body, medium plus acidity, great concentration while keeping fresh and delicate. Good length. Wonderful wine. Drink now until 2030.
