Nose is ripe and rich but also seashelly and mineral. Lovely lemon curd and classic Chablis oyster bed aromas. So clean. Expressive. Palate has terrific freshness and zip. Better than when it was young. Lovely mineral freshness as well and just terrific fruit and depth. Age transforms these wines.

The 2019 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru is very sultry and backward on the nose, featuring traces of white flower and citrus peel, and it gains energy and tension in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry that dovetails into quite a concentrated, "fat" midpalate, where it just loses some of the tension that I was anticipating. But it displays good matière and grip, and this is still a decent Côte de Léchet that should benefit from a couple of years in bottle. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2021)

Muted nose out of the gates. Some green Apple and seashells. Maybe too cold. Palate is rich and ripe with terrific purity and density. So sappy and complex. Very pure. Lemony and reifned. Very explosive. Excellent balance and very harmonious.

Love these in a riper than normal vintage. Ripe and lemony with loads of seashells and minerals. So Chablis! Lechet is the most Chablis 1er Cru if that makes sense! Ripe and juicy with terrific freshness and purity. So balanced and compact. Good acids. Great minerality. Long. So well made.

For all the 15 Chablis haters. An amazing wine.

Nose is deep and perfumed. As it opens some herbals.

Palate is elegantly rich. Lovely. Really good. Nicely acidic. After an hour dusted minerals. Some brine.

More puligny than Chablis maybe. I’ll suffer through it.

Ass kicking long finish. Some finely dusted minerals.

Bought from fass selections.

Updated score! Got even better on days 2 and 3. This is a white to give some air. (Original: Yellow apples, lemon, pineapple, cream, some bitter green herbs. Quite rich like other 15s.)

Big, mineral nose. Expansive and like sea water. Utterly classic. Bigger and riper and fatter on the palate. Limestone soil. 60 year old vines. Rounder. Limestone taste. Unmistakeable limestone taste and lovely juicy quality. Salty and humid finish just like I like it.

And here we have the opposite of the Beauroy with a north facing site that shows more typical cut and tension of a Chablis, but also with more ripeness than your usual Chablis. A wonderful wine, good complexity as citrus, rock, smoke and a hint of tropical like Banana fight it out.

Fuller bodied, lightly oaked? Good fruit and bright acidity. Tart apple, pear, chalk
