What a delicious Bas-Armagnac. Rich with vanilla and caramel notes all in abundance. But what makes this such a delightful spirit is its intensity, smoothness and the finish that lasts several minutes. Twenty five years aged, and some, this Bas-Armagnac was a little treasure that I picked up at a store that was, sadly, closing. I'm glad I did.

Slope Cellars: "A blend of three vintages, but the bulk of it is 1981. 40% abv. A beautiful colour, rich dark, gold. Viscous in the glass. Lovely perfumed aromas. Spicy prunes on the nose. Very elegant, soft, rich fruit. Gorgeous. Soft, brown sugar. Perfectly ready to drink. Tons of structure and zip and a very long finish. Orange peel note on the finish. Perfect. Orange butter on the nose, like as in crepes. Really aromatic! Cinnamon note on the nose. Great paired with Plumb Tart Tatin."

Complex, rich, and framed a sharp edge that gives is a little bit of rustic feel. Carmel, toffee, coconut, toasted hazelnuts, fig, baking spices, and dried fruits. Finish for days.

Cocoa butter, raisin, smoky honey, leather and cream sherry. Best Armagnac I've ever tasted!
