Note, in 2019 hail cut yields by 40%, Deep Ruby with concentrated aromas of ripe dark fruits and spices. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with leather, licorice and smoky herb notes. Fine tannins, hints of oak on medium+ finish ending with fruit, herb and earthy mineral tones. Nice!

Had some interesting moments but a bit disjointed. Peeling layers you hit nice fruit and flowers with the occasional astringent harsh dead tobacco leaf. Weird but with personality. Maybe a few years will help it come together. Drank over three nights.

Delas can often be a bit modern for my taste, but this was fairly classic and a great value.

Great value. Polished, more elegantly-styled CH, clear fruit nuanced by N. Rhône character. Showing well at 8 years. Mulberry and plum, tobacco, sweet meat, pepper, forest floor, licorice. A salty/savory point to its meatiness, almost sweaty. Like the focus the bottle age has brought, tannins are fine, its mineral character is showing through.

100% Syrah, 13% abv, de-stemmed, maturing for 14 months: partial in tank and partial in Burgundian small barrels. Dusty, mineral and chalky with black cherry, blackberry, fig, dried dark fruit, slightly gamey with savory herbal note. Didn't open up after an hour in the glass. A masculine, well structured Syrah. Could age for another 5-10 years.

Very serious Crozes sporting intense smoky bacon and sausage right up front. There’s almost a pepperoni type note to this wine- intensely meaty, smoky and savory. Violets showing up on the nose with air. Juicy blackberry on the entry and finishing with freshly cracked black pepper. For me this is what Crozes Hermitage can and should be in terms of quality. Perhaps too sweaty and savory for most, but a serious wine that is drinking great now and will do so for another 5-7 years.

Drank more like a CDR village than a Crozes-Hermitage, perfect with pork knuckle

Called it a "pepper-bomb." Like, if someone were grinding a pepper mill into your nose. Blue/purple fruit is subtle, acidity lacking. Revisited next day--totally oxidized and falling apart. Usually enjoy this producer...don't really understand C-H.
