Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne Chardonnay

From Magnum at a friends house for lunch - thank you Kiron. Delamotte is from the acclaimed house of Salon. At 20 years this was showing honeysuckle and diminished bubbles. Great intensity of flavour in this Blanc de Blancs.

Pale gold. Full of life in the glass with persistent tiny bubbles. Tight nose. Notes of citrus, white chalk, tan spice and a little apricot. Great mousse effect in the mouth. Really nice.

Nice straw color with lots of energy. Citrus dominates the nose. Chablis like in its acidity and power. Still young.

Nice refined bubbles. A bit dry but creamy and fires up the sensory receptors. Great finish. Ok now but better in the future I would suspect.

Well made, but without the depth, complexity, and length expected from Les Mesnil sur Oger and from 2002.

Notes of pastry, apple and cheese. paired very well with cave aged cheddar. remarkably well balanced.
