Decoy
Sonoma County Pinot Noir
Definitely red fruit-forward. It is a little baking spice spicy. Easy enough to drink, with alcohol and acid balanced. The fruit (red cherry, a little cranberry, if I use my imagination) is the most vocal and a little simple, bordering on sweet but politely not sweet. It punches in right at its price point.

Sep 3rd, 2018It was more than 20 years ago that the inaugural vintage of Decoy Napa Valley Red Wine made its debut, part of the Duckhorn Wine Company. Aromas of berry fruits with floral notes. On the palate ripe cherry and strawberry flavors with spicy cola notes, warm tannins with balanced acidity. Lingering crisp finish ending with earthy tones. Good value.

Light body brings nice acidic tartness of cherry, strawberry and raspberry. Finishes medium long due to tiny tannins with an ending cedar/oak note. Good balance, structure and value at $19.99 USD. Easy recommendation for a tart sipper!

Very impressed for a 2012, hard vintage year for sure. I'm a big fan of the branding as well, classic but eye catching nonetheless.
