T-minus one day to Irma. Today's forget-the-hurricane selection: a fine Barbaresco, featuring dry red fruit and violet flavors overlaying tarred leather and herb essences with weighty tannins and superb finish. Patience rewards with each hour of opening, improving depth, breadth, and finish. I'd bet this would age quite well as its only 4 years young and quite tart with some roundness poking through.
