More tannic and savory than many Aussie Grenaches I've had. Nose of raspberry ooze, plums, and that classic Aussie warm sandstone minerality. Leaner and far more tannic on the palate than the nose suggests. Very well done but needs food that will tame the tannins.
NIGHT 2: much more together, especially on the palate. Softer and longer. Nice acidity buoying it up. Upping score to 8.8.

Aug 11th, 2016Remarkably restrained and fresh, notably without the oxidative notes that would be part of the package if this was from the Rhone. Less extracted and higher acid than I would have expected. Tasty.

Jan 20th, 2016Love D'Arenberg, but a little disappointed. Tannic and z little flat. Still s good wine, but my expectations for this winery are high.
